Welcome to Intricately Dreaming Stables. Here we create and breed predominantly ‘mythic’ equines, meaning we specialize in unicorn, pegasus, hippogriff, and others of those lines. However, don’t be surprised if you find deviations from the expected within our herd, as our manager has bit of a problem with being distracted with new ideas.
We’re located in a canyon in the lovely Emilion mountain range. Mountain spires form our western and rear boundary, and they wrap round to frame our establishment, gradually fading to rolling hills. Our institution consists of a main central house, various stables arranged in a circular fashion about it, and several paddocks extending radially from the cluster. Most of our pastureland is unfenced, and most of our equines are free to wander our property. Some rarely visit the central premises, at all.

Breed: Unicorn (Friesian build)
Age: Unsure/Mature
Height: 16 hh
Color: Pure black, Characteristic of Friesian breed
Markings: None discernable.
Discipline: None, he prefers to be left alone.
Passable Traits:
25% chance of throwing a unicorn foal with non-unicorn mare (100% when bred to another pure unicorn, 75% when dam is part-unicorn).
50% chance of throwing an entirely black foal.

Offspring: None yet
Other: Dying has had a rather convoluted past. He appeared out of the wild and took up residence in one of the caves peppering the mountains behind IDS. Several attempts were made to tame, or at least befriend him, but he has rejected each advance savagely. He appears only for breedings, and each has to be handled with extreme care. He is remarkably vicious to other equines, and great care must be taken to see that he does not savage the mare before he breeds her. Strangely, after he has mated the mare, he becomes almost ridiculously gentle with her. He is also very sweet and gentle about his own offspring. We can only guess at the cause of these strange behavioral tendencies.

Name: Emilion (Named after the mountain range; “Feathers” for short)
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Hippogriff (Equine portion Arab)
Age: Unsure
Height: 17 hh
Color: Tawny feathers, bay equine
Markings: None not characteristic of his breed.
Discipline: We have yet to train him to carry a rider, and some opinion is to the effect that he perhaps couldn’t carry one per his conformation. Currently he enjoys being shown at halter.
Passable Traits: (all percentages increase if bred to a mare that shares similar characteristics)
80% inheriting feathered wings
10% inheriting clawed forefeet and partially feathered body
3% throwing a hippogriff

Offspring: None yet.
Other: Feathers appeared one day on the roof of one of the stables the day after we acquired our mare, Sundaughter, and hasn’t left since. We believe he followed her here, as the two share a close friendship. He’s generally sweet and affectionate, but fiercely loyal, and must be tricked away if Sundaughter is to be bred to another stallion. He is usually kind to the mares he is put to, but if insulted by any about he will immediately take flight and leave. He requires a bit of handling at breeding as his beak and talons can easily slip and shred skin unintentionally. He is a carnivore, and hunts for his prey in the mountains.

Other: IDS acquired Sundaughter through an auction sale. The mare was crammed into a small dirty stall, her coat streaked with feces, but still conveyed such a sweet, inquisitive personality that we simply had to purchase her and bring her back to our wide fields. With her, came the hippogriff known as Emilion or Feathers, and the two share a close friendship. The hippogriff is fiercely protective of her, and has to be tricked away if Sundaughter is to be bred.

Markings: One, bright red on shoulder, hereditary.
Discipline: Not trained yet.

75% throwing a unicorn foal when bred to another pure unicorn, 25% when sire is part-unicorn.
75% Inheriting grey gene.
75% inherit shoulder marking (however can be anywhere and any color)
25% inherit long ear structure.
25% Fading mane and tail

Other: Angelfire’s our little darling. The first foal born at our stable, and unfortunately, perhaps coddled a bit too much. She’s got a sassy, flashy attitude and likes to tease her handlers. She has perhaps a dangerous curiosity about our mountains, and a tendency to badger poor Feathers.
